Today I was searching for life changing albums, and all I found was a bunch of stuff from the 80's. Don't get me wrong, old music is great, but I would like to think that my generation is capable of producing life-changing music, too. I couldn't find a list with music from the 21st century, so I decided to make one.

Torches - Foster the People
Why is it life changing?
If you're anything like I am, you love artists that aren't afraid to step outside of the borders. Foster the People does that, and more, with their album Torches. Sure, there's the catchy songs like Pumped Up Kicks and Don't Stop (Color on the Walls) but Torches delivers so much more than that, with deep songs like Life on a Nickel and Waste. I listened to this album on repeat for months after it came out. Definitely worth a listen (or 10!)
21 - Adele
Why is it life changing?
Adele is soulful, deep, catchy and edgy all in one. She sings about having her heart broken (Take It All, Rolling In the Deep) and coming back from that (Someone Like You, Rumor Has It) Never have I found a more perfect mixture between beautiful and edgy.
New - Paul McCartney
Why is it life changing?
The music from the 60's is partially lost on my generation, but that doesn't make Paul McCartney any less credible. The Beatles changed the course of music forever, and Paul McCartney continues to make history even though he's in his 70's.
Of course, being a grandfather doesn't mean he's any less cool. He still continues to make music that is relevant to the current generation (If you haven't heard the song New you're missing out) And then he goes on to do catchy songs like Queenie Eye and Appreciate. Truly legend - wait for it - dary!
