Disclaimer: [THIS LIST IS NOT FINISHED.] The music I have chosen for this list is entirely from my point of view. I didn't take a survey, I didn't get people to vote. It's my opinion. If you feel that I am missing an album, or that my list is "incorrect" then I suggest you make your own list. Music is interpretative!
Today I was searching for life changing albums, and all I found was a bunch of stuff from the 80's. Don't get me wrong, old music is great, but I would like to think that my generation is capable of producing life-changing music, too. I couldn't find a list with music from the 21st century, so I decided to make one.
[Not in any particular order]
Torches - Foster the People
Why is it life changing?
If you're anything like I am, you love artists that aren't afraid to step outside of the borders. Foster the People does that, and more, with their album Torches. Sure, there's the catchy songs like Pumped Up Kicks and Don't Stop (Color on the Walls) but Torches delivers so much more than that, with deep songs like Life on a Nickel and Waste. I listened to this album on repeat for months after it came out. Definitely worth a listen (or 10!)
21 - Adele
Why is it life changing?
Adele is soulful, deep, catchy and edgy all in one. She sings about having her heart broken (Take It All, Rolling In the Deep) and coming back from that (Someone Like You, Rumor Has It) Never have I found a more perfect mixture between beautiful and edgy.
New - Paul McCartney
Why is it life changing?
The music from the 60's is partially lost on my generation, but that doesn't make Paul McCartney any less credible. The Beatles changed the course of music forever, and Paul McCartney continues to make history even though he's in his 70's.
Of course, being a grandfather doesn't mean he's any less cool. He still continues to make music that is relevant to the current generation (If you haven't heard the song New you're missing out) And then he goes on to do catchy songs like Queenie Eye and Appreciate. Truly legend - wait for it - dary!

Life & Bollywood II
Today I watched my second Bollywood film. (I know, I've been missing out!)
I was called Kal Ho Naa Ho (English Translation: There may or may not be a tomorrow)
It was an amazing movie. I watched an Indian guy do a dance to the song Maahi Ve (a song from the movie) about a week prior to watching the actual movie.
Saif Ali Khan might just be on the best looking Bollywood actors I've ever seen. He's a little older now (the movie came out in 2003) but damn.

Anyways, the movie was amazing. (Long by Hollywood standards but good nevertheless, coming out at a little over 3 hours.) Watch it if you've got some time to kill. You can find it for free on YouTube by typing Kal Ho Naa Ho into the search bar!

2014 Challenge
We've all heard it before. "I'm going to be a better person in 2014." or "I'm going to lose 20 pounds this year." or "I'm going to quit spending every waking hour staring at a screen."
And I think we all know how these so-called "resolutions" turn out. You'll follow it for a couple of days, maybe skip dessert once or twice before deciding that you really don't have the motivation to get up early in the morning to run around the block. Or you say something mean to someone and realize that your resolution to be nicer has already been broken, and you decide not to follow through with it.
Do you ever wonder why no one goes through with their resolutions? Perhaps it's because the idea of a "new year- new me" idea is cliche. Perhaps we make resolutions that we don't intend to keep in the first place.
Or maybe, just maybe, we're going about personal growth the wrong way.
I decided in 2014, to make a commitment to making no commitments.
That's right. Of course, I wrote down some things I'd like to see happen in 2014, but I didn't make a promise to myself at midnight or do any sort of ritual.
Instead, I decided to do something simple. I decided to write every day. And I don't mean add content to a story, or anything like that. No, instead, every night, I write down something that made me happy during the day. Then I throw each note into a shoe box that I keep in my room.
Because when it's 2015, I don't want to remember a bunch of meaningless resolutions that I never went through with. I don't want to remember that I promised to lose 10 pounds and I didn't do it. I don't want to remember that I didn't finish my novel.
Instead, I want to read through all of my notes, and remember each event that made me smile throughout the year.
I challenge you to do the same.

My First Post In 2014
I never thought I'd be posting this late into 2014. (I know, it's only halfway through January, but still.)
Yes, it's a new year. And thankfully I didn't go somewhere on New Year's Eve where I'd sit in a circle listening to people making resolutions they don't intend to keep. In fact, I spent the day with my 2 best friends, and it was a great night.
And now it's January 2014.
Interesting. It seems that whenever I read other people's blogs they have so much stuff to talk about, but I'm drawing a blank. Sure, a lot has happened to me over the past year, and I could do a quick re-cap of 2013, but that seems cliche.
Instead, I'm going to give you guys a challenge. Check out my next post for my 2014 challenge.

Life & Christmas
So as you all know, Christmas is right around the corner and I'm quite excited.
ANDDDDD 6 days left until my 18th birthday!
Yes, to answer your mental question, it does suck having a birthday 3 days after Christmas. But what can you do? I'm just happy that I'll be 18 before the majority of my classmates will be.
I don't have a lot to write about so I'm going to keep it short and sweet. Merry Christmas everyone! (in 3 days)
Late - (Draft from August)
Hello writers, readers, or anyone who has managed to get to this blog somehow. I haven't written forever, so I felt that a greeting was necessary.
Why haven't I written in forever, you may ask. Well, I'd like to say that I was on an exotic journey through the Amazon rain forest, or getting a front-seat view on the wild animals in Africa, however, I wasn't doing either of those things. No, instead, I spent most of my August in British Columbia and working.
Okay, okay, so it hasn't exactly been an eventful month. British Columbia was awesome, and I saw so many beautiful things. Work is alright, too, but doesn't compare to being able to relax. I'm getting paid though, so it isn't a big deal.
School started on Wednesday, and I've been a little stressed. Yeah, I know, it's only been 2 days, and it's not like I'm overloaded.
Life & Success
I wrote a blog post a while back titled "Life and Rejection" where I ranted about how I had experienced some major rejections in the past year.
Well, it's not quite 2014 yet, and I wanted to write about my recent success.
I doubt anyone knows this, but I applied for the Loran Scholarship in October. I received an email about a week ago that said I was a semi-finalist and I would be getting interviewed over the phone.
And now I'm heading to Toronto in February to do in-person interviews!
